Aims and Objectives of the bITjAM
Aims:
- To develop and maintain a creative community based on digitally based artforms
- To provide accessible digital arts for all
- To support new, emerging and professional artists with the development of digital arts
- To enable a learning and collaborative based community
- To use digital art and digital media as a way to support social inclusion
- To creatively respond to the effects of regeneration and place making.
- The bITjAM will provide specialised programmed interventions for events, conferences and exhibitions, the interventions will be based on interactive and reactive sound/visual installations.
- To branch out into Arts for health (digital arts on prescription)
- Arts for inclusion
- Supporting local industries by introducing new media for marketing, employee development, creating unique perspectives for business partners
Objectives:
- To run regular live performances creating opportunities to develop new and exciting collaborations
- To provide opportunities to share skills and experiences in using digital arts and media through workshops and live collaborative performances
- To provide an open and respectful community of artists.
- To develop live interactive installations that challenge and inspire people to think about the power and benefits of digital arts
- To further develop the digital art landscape in Staffordshire
- To develop and get involved in a network of artists from across Europe, welcoming many to the area to get involved
- To develop cross artforms such as sound and movement, cinema and film,
- to develop better links with science and technologies
- develop links with learning institutions
- to develop unique ways to carry out research and represent research data i.e soundscapes and videoscapes, digital collages
